NAMI Arizona - National Alliance on Mental Illness of Arizona

NAMIWALKS Arizona

LOCATION:
at AZ State Capitol
with a satellite walk in Tucson at the Kino Veterans Memorial Center (2805 E. Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ)

On April 16, 2005, almost 3,000 people from every corner of the state gathered at the Arizona State Capitol and
changed history. How? They took the first critical steps to raise mental illness awareness across Arizona. On
April 8, 2006 we held our second walk. Now, this year, we held our fourth walk on March 29, 2008.

Part of a nationwide event, the NAMIWALKS Arizona has 3 goals:

1. To increase awareness in Arizona about mental illness and the devastating effects that it has on the lives of
millions of Americans (one in four families) every year.

2. To bring Arizona's community together marching for NAMI's mission on one fine March day.

3. To raise much needed dollars to fund NAMI's outstanding support and education programs—offered free of
charge to all.
